Investigations of a little-studied group of diurnal birds of prey in the territory of Yakutsk and its vicinity were carried out in 2008-2023. The materials on their numbers were obtained on the basis of foot survey routes, on arrival and departure - by interviewing the population and original observations. According to the literature data and the results of the surveys, 12 species of the Falconiformes order are relatively regularly found in the city and its vicinity. Kestrel and kite are common in the breeding period, while the Eastern Harrier, quail, lapwing and grouse are less common. Other species of diurnal birds of prey occasionally visit the city in search of food, during the wanderings and seasonal migrations. Kestrels were found to be nesting in the city centre and on its periphery, Eastern Harrier on lakes located within the city and in the vicinity, and Red-crowned Lapwing on dacha plots. The first nesting of Kestrels in the city was recorded in 1977, Eastern Harrier - several years ago, and Redpoll - in 2021, therefore, it can be assumed that penetration of some species of these birds into the built-up part of the city is relatively recent. Among very rare migratory species, Steller's sea eagle, steppe eagle, harrier and black vulture were recorded in the vicinity of the city.

The article considers all types of modern skidding tractors – choker, chokerless, with a pack grip, and sorter pickers. The recent history of machine systems for logging operations in the Russian Federation and the prospects for creating effective machine complexes for logging operations in Russia are briefly formulated. A theoretical analysis of the comparative performance of skidding tractors was performed, during which a computational experiment was used. Recommendations for the effective operation of shockless skidding tractors in various natural and industrial conditions are formulated. The work was carried out within the framework of the scientific school "Innovative developments in the field of logging industry and forestry" of the Arctic State Agrotechnological University.

Grain drying is a broad subject when one considers all grains and the various locations and conditions under which they are cultivated and dried. In recent decades improvements in cereal yield and the introduction of crops, such as oil seed rape, have caused many farmers to consider increasing the capacity of grain drying systems. Basically, grain conditioning and safe storage relates largely to the removal of moisture. It has been found that for high-temperature drying, mixed flow driers with convective and continuous drying outlets with cross-movement of grain flow and drying agent are the most promising type of drying equipment. It has been determined that one of the important problems in plant growing remains the reduction of fossil fuel consumption, primarily liquid fuel, for drying grain. A stable trend has been identified, both in high-temperature and aeration dryers, to use combustion units with a heat exchanger, which eliminates contamination of grain with fuel combustion products. Particularly relevant issues in both drying systems are the growing use of alternative energy sourcesto replace fossil fuels. A comparative analysis of high-temperature and aeration grain drying reflects the general trend in world grain drying practice, expressed in the spread of both drying systems, which can be effectively used in combination with each other.

By-products of cattle and reindeer are a widespread, nutritious and environmentally friendly product of the residents of Yakutia. When consuming 100 g. of Yakutian cattle offal on average satisfies the daily requirement of an adult in potassium - 8.7%, calcium - 1.2%, magnesium - 4.7%, sodium - 9.1%, phosphorus -34,9%, manganese - 3,0%, copper - 34,6% and fluorine 0,5%, reindeer - in potassiumm by 9,3%, calcium - 1,6%, magnesium - 5,8%, sodium - 11,6%, phosphorus - 39,4%, manganese - 3,6%, copper - 36,1% and fluorine 0,5%. The amount of macro- and microelements in all types of subproducts of reindeer was higher by 16.3% on average than in subproducts of Yakut cattle.

Russia is the world leader in the number of reindeer: 60% of the global domestic population is located in our country. But the trends are such that the number of animals in the northern regions decreases annually or remains stable. Reindeer husbandry is the only branch of agriculture that employs the entire indigenous population of the North, Siberia and the Far East and the industry most exposed to threats from industrial development. A special feature of reindeer husbandry in Russia compared to other countries is the diversity of its forms and methods. Since 2006, the development of reindeer husbandry has been included in the national project, and in 2007 it became a priority area for the development of livestock husbandry. Starting from 2021, a “Strategy for the development of northern reindeer husbandry in the Russian Federation until 2030” is being developed, aimed at the development of reindeer husbandry, the use, protection, protection and reproduction of the reindeer herd, the innovative and effective development of technological methods for processing raw materials, ensuring accelerated growth of the economic sector, social and environmental safety of the country. The article discusses measures of state support for northern reindeer husbandry in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia); the need to adopt a federal law on reindeer husbandry is substantiated.
