В статье речь идёт об итогах работы двух масштабных комплексных геолого-географических экспедиций 1926 и 1929-1930-х гг. на северо-востоке Якутии, возглавляемых выдающимся ученым-геологом, талантливым организатором науки С. В. Обручевым. Раскрывается его историческая роль в ликвидации последних "белых пятен" на карте страны. Даётся оценка орографического описания и картографирования хребтов Черского и Верхоянского, Юкагирского и Алазейского плоскогорий, что позволило географической науке развенчать многовековые заблуждения учёного мира. Приводятся данные об изучении оледенения под его руководством. Оценивается вклад исследователя в поиск и разведку богатейших залежей золота, свинца, цинка, меди, каменного угля и других полезных ископаемых, значительно обогативших минерально-сырьевые запасы северного региона. Даются практические рекомендации, разработанные С. В. Обручевым, по перспективному развитию горной промышленности, как важнейшей части народного хозяйства на северо-востоке Якутии. Проводится параллель с сегодняшним днём, когда по инициативе главы Республики Саха (Якутия) Е. А. Борисова готовится масштабная II комплексная экспедиция под руководством РАН для изучения производительных сил республики.
In this article we are talking about the results of two large-scale complex geological and geographical expeditions of 1926 and 1929-1930 in the North-East of Yakutia headed by the outstanding scientist-geologist, a talented organizer of science S. V. Obruchev. Its historical role in the elimination of the last "white spots" on the map of the country reveals. We give the descriptions of the assessment and mapping of orographic ranges of Chersky and Verkhoyansk, Yukagir and Alazeya plateau, which allowed geographical science to debunk the age-old misconceptions of the academic world. The contribution of the researcher in the search and exploration of the richest deposits of gold, lead, zinc, copper, coal and other minerals, greatly enriched mineral reserves of the Northern region. Practical recommendations developed by S. V. Obruchev, for the prospective development of the mining industry as an important part of national economy in the North-Eastern of Yakutia. Drawing a parallel with today, when on the initiative of the Head of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) E. A. Borisov is preparing the large-scale II complex expedition under the leadership of SB RAS for study of productive forces of the Republic.
